Don't Live in your own Fear (Inspiration from Jazmine Sulivan's Fear)

Greetings All,

I am sorry that this weeks blog took a little be longer to get out.  I have been busy with performing so I was not able to post until now.  Nevertheless,  I am very excited about this weeks blog.  It is simply about FEAR and everything it represents.  FEAR of the UNKNOWN, FEAR of PEOPLE and most of all the ultimate FEAR of SELF and why in the world it happens. This weeks blog is inspired by the powerful song Fear by Jazmine Sullivan.  If you have not heard this incredible song, I suggest you jump on the band wagon of inspiration.  Lol.  This song  represents the  everyday battle people experience regarding fear, but are just too afraid to share it with other people or even admit it to themselves. For instance, when I was younger, fake things like monsters, dark spaces, and scary movies were the cause of my fear, but nowadays those childish fears have been replaced with adult insecurities stemmed from everyday challenges in life.   I have learned that those fears  at times have affected my  judgement, self esteem and even my goals.  But one day I asked myself a few the questions Why is Fear So Powerful? Why can Fear stop someone from living the life they want? Where does fear come from and finally, Why am I so Fearful? After much thought, I realized that Fear belongs to everyone.  No one is exempt from the effects of Fear.  Honestly, I do not think I know anyone that at some point in time has not been fearful of something?  Whether it be small fears such as finally being honest with someone or meeting someone for the first time to larger things such as stage fright, or even fear of death, we have all experienced that nervous feeling of butterflies throughout our stomach when we are faced with the unknown and  if we are not careful, our fears can and will consume us.  In the event that fear does set in, I have learned that it is best to look inside yourself and figure out where  your fear stems from.  Is is  something from your past, or could it be a result of something that someone may have said about you? The truth is fear always has a root and it is up to us to find out what and where it is and pluck it before it grows into something we cannot control.  We have to learn how to find comfort in things that naturally cancel out fear, such as confidence, understanding and most of all prayer.  As a performer, I remember a time when my whole life was full of fear.  It was so much apart of my life that I did not really know myself and was not comfortable in my own skin.  I  had to find security in both my music and personality on and off stage. You must realize that you are not human without fear but,  I encourage you to take time and conquer this issue especially if it is hindering you from reaching new heights.  Getting rid of fear is like losing those few unwanted pounds. You will feel lighter, better about life and have the ability to accomplish everything you wish without that little thing called FEAR holding you down.  Always remember that Loving and Trusting God first will allow you to live a life of  peace and happiness.  So let Go and let God

Loves that,

Madelyn
